Florence capital city of Tuscany

Florence is the capital city of the Tuscany region; it is situated in the north-central part of Italy, on the way between Rome and Milan. Florence lies on the banks of the River Arno, in a valley surrounded by hills, and it is known all over the world as the city of art, the center of Renaissance, and one of the most important centers of literary and scientific culture.

On the Ponte Vecchio

Firenze being located in the heart of the Tuscany region is less than one hour of car away from towns like Pisa, Siena, Lucca, Arezzo, San Gimignano, Cortona, and the coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea. Florence is known for famous museums, palazzi, churches, and monuments, a wealth of fine art and architecture.

It is one of the most visited tourist destinations of the world; an incomparable location for studying art, especially the beautiful Renaissance art. Florence was the domicile of distinguished artists as Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and Raphael.

The river Arno is spanned by the famous Ponte Vecchio, the only of Florence’s bridges not destroyed during the Second World War. Florence is lovely, and in the summer, with tourists jamming the streets and aggressively hot temperatures, you may easily reach your limit of cathedrals and Botticellis, or in typical trattoria, a small restaurant, where it is possible to taste tasty Tuscan dishes, and in numerous characteristic places where you can enjoy the evening, meet people and entertain yourself.
